Emotion — this is the name chosen by Luca Salvioli, Bar Manager of Gaia Bar. The menu features twelve cocktails, a recurring number at Musa, inspired by the six universal human emotions: joy, surprise, sadness, anger, disgust, and fear. An original concept, just like the drinks themselves, which are meant to be enjoyed in sequence, creating a bridge between feelings, moods, and what can be expressed in a glass during a convivial and relaxing moment, such as an aperitivo with a lake view or an after-dinner drink. The common thread is defined by a beautiful study of color palettes and an intense amount of behind-the-scenes work: numerous cordials, distillations, fermented preparations, foams, and airs.

A recognition that further confirms the importance of an excellent cocktail list within a hotel. Sensuum is described as “a perfect drink in terms of flavor and balance, with remarkable technique,” made with Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva, Campari, and a Kintsugi cordial based on apple, milk, salted caramel, miso, citrus, and a fragrant five-spice note. The drink was paired with a namelaka featuring kefir and tonka bean.
I’m truly delighted with the results of this edition: mixology in Como has reached an exceptionally high level. The podium is made up of three great bartenders, each separated by just one point. Campari Bartender Competition: Luca Salvioli of Gaia takes second place
Read an excerptLuca Salvioli, Bar Manager of GAIA — located within MUSA Lago di Como — placed second in the eleventh edition of the Campari Bartender Competition, the exclusive contest organized by Campari Academy, Campari Group’s training and experimentation hub dedicated to the world of mixology, surpassing over 1,000 candidates. Kill me” is the cocktail he created for the competition, inspired by the unexpected encounters that happen at the GAIA bar counter: demanding guests with intriguing requests that spark the imagination. A drink that reveals itself sip after sip, featuring ingredients designed to captivate the senses: Campari Bitter, 15% dealcoholized Wild Turkey Rye, salty bitter-almond syrup, and a fake wine made with berries. Luca Salvioli also won the Fan’s Favourite award, assigned based on the number of public votes, thanks to his spontaneous creation “Sipario Rosso,” a cocktail inspired by one of Milan’s symbolic landmarks: Teatro alla Scala. He was also the only bartender from Como to reach the final stages in 2024–2025 — a recognition that confirms his talent and the distinctive vision he has brought to the mixology scene on Lake Como.

Born on June 12, 1995, in San Rufo, a small village in the province of Salerno, he approached the world of hospitality at a very young age, taking his first steps behind the bar at just 13. After graduating from hospitality school, at 19 he moved to Milan to pursue his dream of a career in the bar world.
He completed the Bar Master program at the Campari Academy, a training path that allowed him to interact with some of the most authoritative names in Italian and international mixology. Over the years, he has taken part in numerous training courses with industry leaders, building a complete and grounded vision of the craft.
He began his journey in Milan, moving between small neighborhood venues and prestigious clubs, eventually taking on a key role at Prima Café.
After two and a half years, he moved to Livigno, where he took part in the pre-opening of Kosmo Taste the Mountain — the high-altitude brand by Norbert Niederkofler — in the role of Assistant Bar Manager. This experience led him to Gaia Bar, where he grew quickly, progressing from Assistant Bar Manager to Bar Manager, the position he currently holds.
His talent has been recognized at the national level: for two consecutive years, he ranked in the Top 10 of the Campari Bartender Competition (CBC), achieving second place in the final of the most recent edition. A few days later, he won Cocktail Week with one of his original creations.

His mixology is strongly inspired by the world of cuisine, with particular attention to techniques, flavors, and pairings — maintaining a constant balance between research, taste, and identity.
